Tile splash backs in hues of orange, red and beige will add a subtle colour to your kitchen, while also protecting the cooking area. These will look especially effective if your kitchen has pale walls. If you are looking to replace cabinets and counters when revamping your kitchen, a guaranteed farmhouse look is beech cabinets and matching worktops. Make your tops slightly darker than your cabinets to create a homely, warm feel to the room.
Consider spot lights in your kitchen if there is plenty of natural light. These are stylish and look as nice off, as they do on. A darker kitchen will benefit from a large centrepiece light fitting or several wall lights. Keep light shades light-coloured and basic.
